See What The Coronavirus Curve Looks Like In Canada Right Now

Coronavirus has been top of mind for all Canadians nearly every day since the World Health Organization declared it a pandemic, but what do the numbers actually look like?

From February 18 to March 20, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Canada has gone from 8 to 1,087. Twelve people in Canada have died so far because of the virus.

Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam has reiterated that the country’s health system is prepared to handle this pandemic, but all Canadians can do their part by following health and social distancing guidelines.

“Our window to flatten the curve of the epidemic is narrow. We have to act now,” Tam said in a press conference earlier this week.

As of 6 pm Pacific Time on March 20, the breakdown in Canada is as follows:

Confirmed cases: 1,087
Deaths: 12
Recovered: 15

  • BC: 348
  • Ontario: 318
  • Alberta: 195
  • Quebec: 139
  • Saskatchewan: 26
  • Manitoba: 17
  • Nova Scotia: 15
  • New Brunswick: 11
  • Newfoundland: 4
  • PEI: 2

Repatriated: 12 (Quarantined at CFB Trenton)

So while it may be scary to see the regular updates and the numbers increasing, stay home, self-isolate, and wash your hands to ensure we see the eventual flattening of the curve in the coming weeks and months.
