CBD FAQ's

What is CBD oil made from?
Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is a natural occurring compound that can be extracted (or comes from) both the hemp or marijuana plant. Many of the CBD products on today’s market come from the hemp plant as opposed to the marijuana plant, for the hemp plant contains less THC, which is the cannabinoid that causes a ‘high’.
Does CBD Oil Get You High?
CBD Oil does not cause any psychoactive effects, or a “high” in users. This is because it is unable to trigger the parts of the brain that are necessary to cause a “high”. Unlike THC, which is the primary high-causing cannabinoid, CBD can be used and enjoyed without users having to suffer from unwanted psychoactive effects.
Is CBD Legal in Canada?
Products that contain CBD, and CBD oil itself is 100% legal in Canada. The Cannabis Act that came into force October 17, 2018 made the sale of cannabis oil and other cannabis-derived products legal, and more easily available for thousands of CBD users.
How Much CBD Should I Take?
CBD doses are not set in stone for all CBD users, and it is recommended to seek the advice of a medical professional to find the perfect CBD dosage for your needs. However, it is recommended that CBD beginners start with small doses of approximately 1 to 3 mg, once or twice a day. For more frequent users, a dosage of 10 to 20mg is more recommended.
Does CBD Have Taste?
Due to the fact that CBD is plant-derived, or more specifically— “weed-derived”, it can normally have an earthy, plant-like taste. Depending on the type of CBD, and the CBD product, the taste may vary from a bitter, strong taste, to a mild, slightly soil-like flavor. CBD edibles however are usually delicious, for they contain ingredients that mask the “weed” taste.
Is CBD Oil the Same as Hemp Oil?
Although commonly mistaken, CBD oil and hemp oil are not the same thing. They come from different parts of the cannabis plant— CBD oil is made or extracted from the whole cannabis or hemp plant, whereas hemp oil is made from the seeds the plant produces.
Is CBD Oil Addictive?
CBD is not addictive and non-psychoactive. Although it may be hard to believe, CBD is actually now being used to help the treatment of substance abuse related symptoms. So, instead of being addictive, CBD can actually help users with their addictions.
Can You Drink Alcohol With CBD Oil?
Although there are no serious complications that come with using CBD oil and drinking, it is not recommended. When taken together, they may amplify effects— meaning that they can intensify sleepiness, sedation or nausea. They can also possibly cause changes in mood and behavior. It is smarter to simply take one, and not “mix” them.
Does CBD Help With Weight Loss?
CBD has been shown to be a promising option for users wanting to lose weight. It can help actively burn more energy and reduce white fat stores in the body. CBD can also suppress or lessen appetite. So, yes, CBD can help with weight loss by stimulating certain parts of the body and reducing fat stores.
Is CBD a Good Anti Inflammatory?
One of the most commonly-known benefits of CBD is its anti inflammatory effects. By triggering CB2 rejectors in the body, it can manage and reduce both pain and inflammation. It has become a preferred option for many due to its natural, non-psychoactive properties.
